 Priorities Mayor Bateman

Anonymous writes "The collapse of St Louis Church yesterday should be an eye opener to city officials who continue to turn a blind eye. Small time politics and tainted goverment is slowly strangling this community. I was a spectator who witnessed the collapse of the church and cameras came out of everywhere within moments. I bumped into an gentleman who appeared in the crowd later on and he informed me that residents on the hill heading south have called city officials in regards to the leaning steeple and the condition of the roof in view from their hill top homes many times, especially recently. A foil could easily determine if this is fact. Mayor Bateman is hellbent to make a name for himself getting the city 'cleaned up', crazy architectural review commitees, point systems held against properties, focused on landlords to clean up sub-standard housing not recognizing they are filled with sub-standard tenants. All perfume that'll mask and 'beautify' the city while potential catastrophes such as the collaspe of a major structures occur. A collapse of a building sitting on the main street of Oswego on a state route, bordering a childrens park is lower on his priority list. Lower? Or not a political entity to play hardball against? Politics as usually, luckily it didnt cost lives. The priorities in this town are a laughing stock. HUD and welfare recipients are taking over, sub-standard humans fill the streets, tattoo parlors & pawn shops are currently the most profitable businesses in town and our local Salvation Army will soon be the new hub of downtown Oswego, serving 3 squares a day. Mayor Bateman's new Bridge Street bridge is cracking apart after a year of completion, expense and total aggrevation. And a word to the wise? City workers are refusing to bring heavy equipment on the top level of the midtown plaza (city owned) parking lot and why? Wake up Randy Bateman, your priorities are out of wack. It's more than apparent over the last few years - Harborfest is on it's way out just like anything good this town's history once held. And if I dont like it I should leave? Think I'll take you up on it. Anyone with a brain can see where all this is going, downhill fast.    "
